Two fly nymph rigs have been the ticket for our clients and guides.  However, our big custom articulated streamers are producing trophy browns and rainbows.  Consequently, dry fly fishing has been great when conditions are right.

Nymphing with small midges, scuds, and baetis emergers are the key. On the other hand, don’t be afraid to think outside the box on fly selection.  Correct presentations with dead drifts and proper line mending is more important. Alternatively, a lot of fish have been caught on the swing.

Please call us at 307-399-9464 anytime with questions or booking information.  Our guides are passionate about fly fishing and have the river dialed in.  We strive to give you the most up to date fishing reports and the best fishing opportunities.

Grey Reef fishing report

Fishing on the Reef has been on fire after the flush. We have been catching boat loads of trout. You can expect 50-75 fish days right now! Remember that the BLM has closed fishing for the month of April from the Junk Hole down to the Outhouse Hole for spawning fish. Please do your part and do not walk on spawning beds.
It is an awesome spectacle to see 25-30 inch bows this time of year, but please leave these fish to do their thing for the health of this prolific fishery. Streamer fishing for monster browns has been awesome down below the redds.
We still have plenty of availability for April and May. Give us a call 307-399-9464

Bugs to drift are size 20 juju baetis, brown and red wd40’s,pink squirmy worms, and egg patterns. Brown,Black, and Natural Hot head leech and Pine Squirrel Leeches. Size 16 pink, tan, olive flash back scuds. Articulated streamers in the white, natural, and olive variations are the ticket!

Float Fishing – Upper North Platte River

The Upper North Platte River is formed near Walden Colorado by the confluence of several small tributary rivers and streams. This "Gem of the Rockies" flows down through what is known as Northgate Canyon.(6 Mile Gap) This is some of the best dry fly and nymph fishing around! The “Gate” is typically accessed with River Rafts instead of a hard side drift boat. This a favorite with scenic anglers.
