Saratoga Wyoming Upper North Platte River Fishing Report July 2022

We have had one of our busiest seasons yet in 2022.  Blessed with 120% snowpack in the high country made for great float fishing since Memorial Day weekend.  As usual however, flows are dropping on the upper river mid summer.  Please do your part and check water temps before fishing to ensure fish survival for a proper release!  Before your outing, please check USGS water data daily flows here: https://waterdata.usgs.gov/wy/nwis/current/?type=flow

Typically by late July, the epic Trico hatch starts up by mid morning. Caddis, Pmd’s,Yellow Sally’s and stonefly nymphs are also on the menu!

Some of the best dry fly action can be had during July and August on all sections of the North Platte. Starting early in the morning and getting off by mid afternoon, is the name of the game during late summer conditions.
